Pros and Cons of Learning Programming at a Young Age

INTRODUCTION
Learning programming at a young age is a great idea, but with some difficulties as well. Through my years of learning programming while still in middle school, I have gained a lot of knowledge in programming and computers. You are never too old or too young to code, and you can start coding at any time in your life, but I do recommend starting young. Here I will share with you the pros and cons of learning programming at a young age!

PROS
1 .
Learning programming at a young age allows you to prepare for a future career early. When getting that extra head start, it will be easier to get a job in computers because of your experience. Having all the experience under your belt would look good on a resume, and interviews wouldn’t be much of a challenge.
2 . Your imagination is greater at a young age, allowing you to come up with greater ideas. It is known that when you are younger, you have more of an imagination than when you are older. If you come up with a project idea that you think would be great, you can execute it because you know how to program.
3 . You can decide to stop coding at any time with nearly no cost. If you are older and have a job in programming and decide that you don’t like it much, the impacts would be greater as you would perform worse at your workplace and not enjoy your job. If you are young, you could decide that you don’t really enjoy coding and have no cost whatsoever.
4 . When you are younger, your mind is more open to take information in. If you learn to code at an older age, your mind would struggle with learning it rather than if you start young.

CONS
1 .
You would get bored of coding easier if you started at a younger age. This is not the case with everybody, but some people get bored of things easier and especially at a younger age when your attention span is not as great.
2 . You can’t get access to some things as easy. I have had this happen to me many times whether it’s not being able to pay a fee to get something to help, or not being old enough to sign up for websites. It is difficult to purchase things to help you code if you don’t have a job to make money, or even a payment method to do so.

CONCULSION
Learning to code at a young age is a great idea and I encourage you to get started with coding. Although there are some difficulties with coding younger, there is more benefits. You can start code at any age, but starting earlier is much more beneficial later on.
